Certification

The ECO Illegal Wildlife Trade Certification is an international certification focused on ensuring organisations eliminate the illegal wildlife trade from their supply chains and value chains and prevent criminals from using their infrastructure to traffic wildlife and wildlife products around the world.

Based on the principles enshrined within United for Wildlife's Buckingham Palace Declaration, the certification ensures accountability and responsibility in eradicating the illegal wildlife trade and establishes a structured management system to drive compliance, sustainability, and biodiversity protection.

Reviewed by leading NGOs, law enforcement, and industry experts, the certification provides voluntary standards that organizations can adopt. Independent assessments, every two years, ensure credibility and consistency across industries.

Additionally, the certification enables organizations to disclose industry-specific sustainability and biodiversity-related risks that impact financial viability, compliance, and stakeholder trust.

Management System

The ECO IWT Certification helps organizations proactively manage wildlife-related risks and opportunities by implementing structured management systems. These systems define compliance obligations, stakeholder influences, and industry risks to ensure an effective approach against the illegal wildlife trade.

With the Envosus software platform that is included with the certification, organisations simplify implementation through AI-guided features, structured registers, targeted management plans, and mandatory training to drive effective change.
